The new Oberoi: Lost in translationThe Oberoi Mumbai, the ‘other’ hotel in 2008’s terrorist attacks, recently unveiled its US$40 million refit and in August the hotel’s new 24-hour spa opened. I visit the city’s first all-night sanctuary at the end of a very long week. It was 9 p.m. on a Friday night. And all was deadly quiet.

‘There are so many great Britney songs to choose from, how do you pick just one?’ Naya Rivera asks.By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Kara Warner
“Glee” cast in the Lady Gaga-themed episode

The cast of “Glee” are used to mimicking some of the most iconic pop artists of our time, including Lady Gaga and Madonna. And when the show returns for its second season this fall, the castmembers will be gleeking out over another very special pop singer: none other than Britney Spears.
“The reason we’re doing it is because so many of the kids on the show say, ‘We grew up with Britney. We want to do Britney,’ ” show creator Ryan Murphy told MTV News about the upcoming Britney-themed episode.
The “You Drive Me Crazy” singer is already slated for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in the episode, meaning that the spotlight won’t be on Spears herself. Instead, it’s the adoring “Glee” cast’s turn to pay tribute to one of their favorite singers, with rumors floating around that leading lady Lea Michele is set to hone in on Britney’s schoolgirl days with “… Baby One More Time.” And actress Heather Morris told MTV News that she wants to channel her inner “Toxic.” But she’s not the only castmember making requests.
“I think Kurt would sing ‘Circus,’ ” actor Chris Colfer said when asked about the upcoming Spears-centric episode. “Just so he can wear a top hat.”
Amber Riley, who plays the divalicious Mercedes Jones, laughed at Colfer’s suggestion, and it’s certainly hard to blame her. For her own part, Riley sees “Stronger” as a natural fit for Mercedes’ boisterous, self-assured personality. “I like that song,” she assessed with a nod.
Still, there are other “Glee” castmembers — like Naya Rivera, for instance — who aren’t too concerned about which Britney number they end up covering. At the end of the day, there are more than enough memorable songs to go around for everybody.
“There are so many great Britney songs to choose from, how do you pick just one?” Rivera asked. “My fingers are crossed that my favorites will make the list!”
Which Britney songs would you like the “Glee” cast to perform? Tell us in the comments!

There’s no word yet if she’s going to take a seat at the signature white piano again, but Lady Gaga has signed on to perform at one of the Yoko Ono’s Plastic Ono Band concerts taking place in Los Angeles in October.
According to Ono’s website, Gaga will join a star-studded list for a pair of We Are Plastic Ono Band shows at the Orpheum Theater on October 1 and 2 that will include performances by John Lennon’s widow, Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, experimental solo artist Tune-Yards, punk icon Iggy Pop and Lennon’s youngest son, Sean. The shows will take place a week before what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday and will presumably include tributes the the ex-Beatle.
Gaga is slated to take the stage on the second night on a bill that also features married Sonic Youth duo Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. Among the other acts listed on the poster promoting the show: Cornelius, actress Carrie Fisher, director/actor Vincent Gallo, Harper Simon, Mike Watt, Nels Cline, Yuka Honda and Haruomi Hosono.
Though her name stands out on the bill, Gaga’s inclusion is not that unusual. She performed “Imagine,” Lennon’s signature song of hope, at last October’s Human Rights Campaign gathering in Washington, D.C., where she tweaked the song’s lyrics a bit to make references to the 1998 murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard.
To celebrate Lennon’s birthday on October 9, Ono is hosting a series of events and a Plastic Ono Band concert in Iceland. EMI will reissue spiffed-up versions of Lennon’s solo albums on October 5, along with some previously unreleased home recordings.

Madame Tussauds asks ‘little monsters’ to suggest their favorite outfits for upcoming replicas.By Gil Kaufman

Lady Gaga’s whole existence sometimes feels like a living, breathing, bleeding, gender-bending work of art. Now, Madame Tussauds is planning to spend major bucks to turn the international pop sensation into a life-size waxwork.
According to a spokesperson for the New York branch of Madame Tussauds, the popular tourist attraction in Times Square is working on a Gaga figure that should be ready by year’s end. And here’s the best part:
“We’re open to hearing from fans about which looks they want,” said the spokesperson, encouraging Gaga’s “little monsters” to visit NYCWax.com to weigh in on which of Gaga’s many signature styles they would like to see immortalized in wax. While the spokesperson could not comment on a report in a British tabloid that Tussauds is spending more than $1.5 million on the Gaga figures, they did clarify that “many” but not all nine global outlets will get their own Gaga. It is also not yet known if all the Gagas will sport the same look or have different outfits.
The museum is legendary for making wax replicas of the rich and famous, from President Obama and Justin Timberlake to Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, Derek Jeter, former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, Madonna and Beyoncé.
The singer, who is up for a record 13 Moonmen at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, gave Tussauds yet another possibility this week when she set aside female things and posed as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, for the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. The magazine, which hits newsstands September 5, features a cover shot of Gaga as Calderone with an Elvis pompadour, white shirt and black trousers.
Which of Gaga’s looks do you think Tussauds should immortalize in wax? Leave your comments below!

Just like any 16-year-old, Justin Bieber deals with acne outbreaks every now and then. So the teen singing sensation has teamed up with Proactiv to battle the break-outs as their new spokesperson — and with Proactiv, he’s also helping to build schools around the world! Watch the video as he kicks back in the recording studio and kicks butt playing hoops! "Before, I was starting to break out on my nose, and I hold the mic up to my chin a lot, so I was starting to get acne on my chin, and it’s definitely helped out a lot," says Justin of America’s leader in acne prevention and treatment. "I’m just saying, you know, it’s really easy. You’ve got three steps and you’re good to go, so it doesn’t take much time out of your day to make your face look crystal clear." In addition to spreading the word about acne care, the multi-platinum-selling Canadian artist has Proactiv contributing to a cause that is important to him: Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit organization designed to build schools and increase educational opportunities in less fortunate communities around the world.
